Liam Michael Allen

Introducing Liam Michael Allen!
He was due June 28th.
My c-section was scheduled for June 21st.
He made his grand debut June 14th!
I'd been having contractions for weeks and weeks and even dilated to a 3 and then things just kind of stopped progressing. Luckily at my weekly appointment on Friday the 14th my doctor decided it was okay to go ahead and do the c-section early. At 7:45 PM Liam was born weighing 6 lbs 15 oz and was 20 inches long.

I have much more graphic photos than this so if anyone wants to see my guts come on over!

First Family photo
Everything went well with the c-section. We kind of knew he'd be here the 14th because my doctor had warned me if I hadn't gone before then he wasn't going to make me wait any longer. So the night before he was born we had pizza, walked (which we'd been doing every night for a couple weeks) and hung out one last time as our family of 5 and tried to take one last family photo :)

Friday morning I took the boys to my awesome friend Lindsays and then went to my appt. Labor and delivery was completely full so we had to wait until 5:00 to go back. I went home and got a blessing from Justin and my dad and killed time with my sister then we went back to the hospital. They pumped me full of fluids and monitored my contractions and the baby for a while. Justin, Emily and my MIL kept me company. By 7:00 we were walking back to the operating room. I was much more alert this time around and much more nervous during the surgery but it was over soon enough and I was snuggling my newest sweet boy! Lindsay brought the boys up (after having them ALL day! Thanks Linz!) and she stuck around so she could meet him. My sister and dad were also there. They all took turns coming back to see Liam while I was in labor and delivery recovery. By 10:30 I was in the maternity ward and spent the next 4 days recovering and snuggling a sweet baby boy :) We had a steady stream of friends and family coming to visit us and keep us company.

Finally we were released and came home! Before coming home we pit stopped across the street from the hospital at the cemetery to visit Grandpa Allen. Grandma Allen had the boys and was waiting for us at home with dinner when we got there. My amazing MIL and SIL both took time off work to help me at home the first week and my awesome friends brought meals and came to check on me too. This recovery seems to be taking a lot longer than my last ones...that or it's been so long I don't remember. I'm still a little sore on my incision (mostly when I've been cleaning or carrying Liam in his carseat.) but overall I'm feeling pretty good. I still haven't got the go ahead to work out other than light walking but my clothes fit so I can't complain too much. I'll have a few pounds to drop and some toning up to do but I was back in my old jeans at my 2 week appt. I'm looking forward to being able to run again! Should I ever have the time or energy now that we have a newborn :)

Amazing the weight you can drop in 2 weeks if you pop out a baby :)
We are all adjusting to life with a baby pretty well I guess. Breastfeeding has definitely been a challenge for me. Liam dropped from 6.15 to 6.1 and still wasn't back up to his birth weight at 3 weeks old but he is healthy and slowly getting there. I haven't dared venture out anywhere other than a couple walks around the block (I'm such a germaphobe!) and our doctor appointments so once I'm feeling braver we'll see how that goes. Having bigger boys to help is fantastic but I do feel a little guilty there summer is being spent stuck at home. They are being good sports about it though and don't complain.
And now it's already been a whole month! I can't believe it! We've had a baby for 4 weeks, celebrated a holiday (the 4th of July) and he's even met a couple of his friends :) Life is chugging along as fast as ever and I just want to hold him and stare at him ALL day long! Here are a few of the hundreds of pictures I have of my sweet little Liam Michael :)
